Scavenger Hunt for Prizes!

Participating in the scavenger hunt is a fun way for kids to learn while enjoying the festival.  It's easy - just print the scavenger hunt, travel the festival to find the  answers and turn it into the information booth.  Kids receive a commemorative Tres Rios water bottle for completing the scavenger hunt (while supplies last).  The 2021 Scavenger Hunt will be posted here shortly.

 Canoe Excursions

Join us “Down by the River” to learn about safe canoeing from Arizona Game and Fish boating safety instructors and experience the joy of paddling your own canoe around the small lake at the Festival Area. Enjoy the serenity of being on the water, get close to birds and animals, watch the fish below you and generally enjoy the great weather and natural surroundings!

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

REI will be offering Stand Up Paddle Board Tours on both days of the festival. This 45 minute course (a $69 value) will be offer free during the festival and provides an opportunity to get on the water with an ACA-certified instructor in a comfortable environment with like-minded individuals who enjoy sharing outdoor experiences.

Sign up for a time at the REI Booth when you arrive at the event for this activity.

Zipline

Here is your chance to fly through the air over a river!  Rock it Up offers this unique opportunity to zip line over the river only during the festival.  The activity charges $10 per rider with a portion of those funds being donated to Wildlife for Tomorrow Foundation.

Archery

How often do you get to try your hand at shooting a bow & arrow.  Arizona Game and Fish will provide everything you need including bows for all age levels, arrows, targets and great instruction.

Fishing Clinic

Enjoy the opportunity to “wet a line” at the Tres Rios Nature and Earth Festival, and learn about fishing from Arizona Game and Fish Department Fisheries staff. Head to our fishing area where instructors will set you up and get you fishing as a first experience or a repeat of a familiar one! No license required for this event!

Nature Trail & Beginning Bird Watching

The Sonoran Audubon Society will be holding free Basic Birding Classes each day, teaching about binocular usage, identifying local birds, and where to find them.  Hikes will leave each hour.

Experienced Birders may want to join volunteers from the Sonoran Audubon Society for a dawn tour of the festival vicinity along the Salt and Gila Rivers.  Tours begin at 7:00 am each day.  Contact Bob McCormick for more information [email protected] or cell: 602-373-2952

Dog Demonstrations:

11:00 Sunday on the northwest bank of the river learn about the Mark9 K-9 Search & Rescue.  MARK9  provides free services to Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue, Parks and Wildlife and other official agencies of any size that require the use of highly skilled canines and handlers to locate missing people. They will demonstrate with their dogs what techniques are used to aid searches.

 NATURE CENTER

The Nature Center will feature 30 - 45 minute talks on a variety of educational and interactive topics related to wildlife, recycling, water conservation and more.

Beer Garden

Corona, Coors & Coors Light will be available for sale to those 21 years of age or older.  Proceeds benefit AZ West K9 Sport Center.
